Taking Chance

"Taking Chance"
i had the pleasure last night of having my dear friend josh come down and visit me. we were sitting there on the couch watching movies & once the movie was over we started watching "Taking Chance" i knew that it was a military movie with Kevin Bacon... just didn't know the details about it other than that. once i realized it wasn't just a military movie it was about a marine, my whole thoughts changed....especially since i was cuddled up next to a enlisted marine myself.

it was such a great movie overall & really made you think about the process of how these men & woman are brought back to there loved ones. so often we forget just how much these men & woman give up to protect this great nation....it gives you chills just sitting there thinking this could be someone that you know.
a childhood friend of mine lost her husband a few years ago & i always wondered about the process....even though they lose there life they are never forgotten by others. while being prepared to come back home they are taken care of with such compassion and honor. (literally everyone shows it!!) it was so touching while watching the movie to see that while they were loading the casket into the plane that the people who were standing around give a moment of silence and honored him as he was put into the plane....this continued on throughout every connecting flight they had to take to get home. there are several other instances within the movie. during the entire movie, i found myself getting closer & closer to josh and literally holding him tightly as i could while tears were rolling down my face...it was a very simple but very moving movie... they do so much for all of us!

with memorial day coming up this holiday being so often forgotten for what it is really meant to be, i ask that you step back and really give thanks! be proud to fly that AMERICAN flag proudly in your front yard!

First Monday Trade Days in Canton

First Monday has been such a blessing.

With having a booth out there, I have been able to meet the most amazing, strong, fearless woman! These are woman that you strive to become. Everyone has such an amazing story, that gives you that hope that tomorrow is alway a new fresh day. I have had the great pleasure of speaking to Moms & Dads of Military children. They continue to show there support by helping SBG donate items to our Plantoon of Soliders. Hearing stories of how proud they are of those great men & woman remind me that what we are trying to do at SBG to help ease a little homesick pain and show our support is the right thing! Southern Belle Glamour will continue to support our troops! If you have someone fighting for OUR FREEDOM, please let us know!

Did you hear.....SBG adopted a SOLDIER

Southern Belle Glamour adopted a Solider!

Please allow me to introduce...

SPC James Gray
Task Force 3-3 ADA (C-RAM)
He is serving in Iraq until March 2010.
Home State: Wisconsin
Deployed from Fort Bliss, Texas

Here's a little more about him...

Hi, my name is James Gray and I was born in San Diego, CA but was raised most of my life in northern Wisconsin. I am 24 years old and very open minded about this 1st deployment. I was deployed from Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Tx and will be deployed until March 2010. I love my job and there isn't any job that would make me any happier then what I am with what I do. I plan on making this my career and going through the ranks. My platoon is a platoon of 20 guys and not all of them have family's to write to them. My goal is to find people that support us while we are deployed. You may send anything you would like from just letters, pictures, personal hygiene, cleaning supplies, clothes, blankets, sports equipment, snacks, posters, flags, and basically anything you would like to send us. Its all about the thought behind it and that it comes from the heart is what puts that bright big smile on our faces over here. Some of my hobbies in my spare time is to work out, go running, play any kind of sports, I'm very competitive and don't like losing anything I do. I want to thank you for what you guys are doing out there for us and you really don't know what your support does to us. It really brightens up your day knowing someone is out there caring for you and what you are doing.

If you are interested in helping SBG send over a care package or becoming an email buddy, you can email us at sbg@southernbelleglamour.com

please feel free email him & let him know how much we all appreciate everything that they do!
